Seminole State College Announces Return to Campus

SANFORD, Fla. (June 14, 2021) – With input from faculty, staff and students and guidance from federal, state, and local agencies, Seminole State College of Florida developed a plan to safely reopen its campuses. For Fall Term 2021 Seminole State will return to full campus operations which closely resemble work and study models before the pandemic. The College will expand face-to-face classes across all campuses and increase in-person student services and academic support. Additionally, the College will continue online, remote and hybrid classes and virtual services to make it easier for students to engage and study.

Also of note, beginning June 22, College community members who have been fully vaccinated are no longer required to wear a mask/cloth face covering while on campus. If a person has been fully vaccinated but feels more comfortable continuing to wear a mask/face covering they are welcome to do so. Note that some programs with accreditation or licensing standards or which involve clinical settings may have different mask/face covering requirements. Starting June 22, college community members who have not been fully vaccinated, are required to wear a mask/cloth face covering when inside campus buildings (except when alone in their own personal office, workspace or cubicle). This applies to all unvaccinated faculty, staff, students and visitors, including those who may have previously tested positive for COVID-19. The College will allow everyone to self-regulate for the purposes of these protocols and expects all faculty, staff, students and visitors to honestly comply.
